About

Dear friends,

Welcome to SU tandems blog.

This blog is established to provide a platform for those looking for or would be interested in finding tandem language partners at Sabanci University, Istanbul.

Tandem language learning is one of the most efficient, dynamic and costless methods for learning / practicing foreign languages. It is based on mutual exchange between tandem partners, where ideally each person is a native speaker of the language the other wants to learn. It simultaneously provides an way for cultural exchange and new friendships.

Tandem learning involves regular meetings between the language partners where they speak solely in each other’s language for a specified time and in turns.

I myself am a learner of a foreign language and I have realized that in Turkey this method is rarely known and practiced. Furthermore, there is little, if any, platform to bring together tandem partners in Istanbul/Turkey. That’s why I have decided to establish this blog.

So this blog is meant to provide a platform: 1- to inform people about the tandem language learning, and 2- to bring together those people who are looking for tandem partners.

For the moment the blog is meant for Sabanci University students. In time, if it works well  I aim to extend it to other universities as well.

So if you are interested please post your e-mail address and your preferences in the comments part under each language heading and get in touch with those who might interest you.

Hoping this will turn out to be a good experiment….

Zeynep
